liferafts and lifejackets and giant sleeping bags
just to keep you all on your toes i thought id blog agin quickly!! We had lifeboat training yesterday which was lots of fun but also very hardwork. It involved jumping from a height wearing lifejackets and various things involving liferafts.
Apart from having to clomb into the liferaft fully clothed and with a life jacket we also had to be able to flip the liferaft just incase it opens upside down.
This would not have been too difficult apart from the fact that you had to do it wearing a rather awkward and big lifejacket. So you have to haul yourself up onto the back of the liferaft over the bottle of air using a rather makeshift ladder. Really not very easy and i am aching all over this morning from the effort.
We also learnt how to get into a TPA underwater. These are thermal protective aids and are basically like a waterproof sleeping bag. Infact with that on and your lifejacet you are quite cosy and i could quite easily have fallen asleep in the pool had it not been for the instructers being there and about 40 other preshippers.
Anyway i met my k group last on wed night. They will be like my family on board so i now have 4 older brothers and 5 older sisters as i am the youngest in the group.
iv rambled on long enough thank you for all the comments they really are great.
Kate i knew about steve Irwin but not about richard hammond!!! those are the kind of things i like to know as i am very disconnected from the world!!

Oh, just in case you don't know the particulars about Hammond: Doctors think he has brain damage but are still hoping for a full recovery. BBC is unsure whether to broadcast the next series of Top Gear (quality show!) until they know how he's going to be.
Along with just about everyone else worthy of calling themself 'human', I'm hoping he makes a full recovery. Today the papers published a picture of him with his young family which was quite sad.
Seeing as you're not a male celebrity I guess the chances of you having a freak-accident are quite low atm, but still: be careful!

Wow, what your doing sounds really fin but nakering at the same time. I am now officially in my last week of living in Bromley as this time next week I will be there!!! Am looking forward to going as parents keep getting stressed (they seem to be worrying more than me lol).
More on Richard Hammond. I know Jo has said something, but they think he has significant brain injury (so not as bad as damage) n I was reading the newspaper yesterday and according to Jeremy Clarkson I fink the evening before yesterday he properly woke up, called James May sumthing obsene (lol) n asked what happened n if he had been driving like an idiot, then got up and walked to the toilet to everyones surprise. Now he is on a general ward n is in a stable condition, so everyone is more optomistic on him making a good recovery (lets hope its a full recovery). N it has been sed 2day that he has been talking to visitors. I hope that he makes a full recovery soon, everyone wants their hamster back. Everyone in the country seems to be rooting for him and over 4 grand has been givin to the yorkshire air ambulance since his accident!
Look forward to hearing from you again soon, I've seen different types of liferaft on one of many cadet camps and have been talked to about how to do things so can kinda imagine how difficult it must be. But at least you now know what to do in case the worst does happen. Hope you have all the fun in the world.
Love
Kate
